HISTORY

The Project of the Scientific and Technologic Park TEHNOPOLIS Iasi has been accepted for co-financing by the PHARE 2000 Programme, program for pre-adhesion of Romania with the view of the accession at European Union.
The project, co-financed by PHARE, aimed at the phase I of development of the park, in amount of 6,353,220.59 EURO, allocated for constructions.

Of this amount a part of 4,764,915.44 EURO was EU contribution and the rest of 1,588,305.15 EURO was contribution of the Government of Romania.

All the costs of implementation and the non-eligible ones have been covered by the local community, i.e. County Council of Iasi and City-Hall of Iasi. The amount of these costs is around 1,250,000.00 EURO.
The project has been proposed in the first trimester of the year 2000. It entered in the long list of 43 projects in September 2000 and then, in August 2001, in the short list of projects. From these projects, TEHNOPOLIS is the only one projects financed by two local administrations.

The so-called construction period was between February 2003 and June 2005.

In view of the functioning as authorized STP, in 2003, has been established " A supporting Consortium for the Park" composed from: the County Council of Iasi, Local Council of Iasi, Technical University "Gheorghe Asachi","Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University, Agricol University ,"Ion Ionescu de la Brad".Later, in 2005, the Medical University "Gr.T. Popa" Iasi joined the Consortium.
