GOAL

The scientific and research park "TEHNOPOLIS" Iasi has the goal to use the results of research, to apply the cutting edge technologies in economy and to support the implication of universities in the process of social and economic development.

The domains of priority of the "TEHNOPOLIS" are:

  1. IT
  2. Audio-video
  3. Bio-technologies
  4. Food industry

OBJECTIVES

  • technologic transfer of the results of the research to the economic agents interested in producing new products or packages of products with value of competitiveness and to sell them on internal and external markets
  • to stabilize the specialists in research and universities
  • to form the young researchers
  • to attract private funds for research and education
  • to put in value the result of the scientific research
  • to create new jobs in the field of advanced technologies
  • to stimulate the innovative potential of the academicians, universitarian personnel, researchers and students
  • to orient the universities and research units towards the economic and social environment
  • to integrate the students and the graduates in the economic and social environment
  • to stimulate the initiatives of the universities ant of the research units to attract new sources for financing
  • to stimulate the private economic agents to actively participate in development and revaluation of research & innovation, by making high-tech products
  • to attract foreign companies to invest in technologic transfer activities
  • to develop scientific, technologic and economic potential at regional level

WHAT IS A SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGIC PARK ?

The Scientific Parks are spaces specially set to respond to the following characteristics: they are in the neighbourhood of a high education institutions or an advanced research unit and have functional links with these (according to the European Commission).

The Technologic Park is an infrastructure, which receives companies that works in the field of high-tech commercial applications and has as main activities R&D, production, selling and services. The difference from a scientific park is the accent on production. It is not essential the participation of an university (according to European Commission)

The Scientific and Technologic Parks represent an initiative based on real estate operation, that has formal and operative links with an academic institution. The initiative has to impose a high density of knowledge and is responsible with the fusion between technologic transfer and know-how (Mario Marinazzo, vice-president Tecnopol Bari, Italy).
A technopol represents an initiative which insure a partnership between a research organization in the technologic field and the productive world, with the support of public power, generally the local one, to increase the territorial competence (Michael Lacave)

The technopols represents a new type of private alliance with the goal to commercialise the technologies and to increase the economy + Techno: reflects the accent on technology and + polis reflects the balance between the two poles, public and private.

According OG 14 / 2002, completed with Law 50 / 2003, a scientific and technologic park represents "an area in which are carried on training, research, technologic transfer of the research result, and revaluation activities"

Official definition of the scientific and technologic park, given by the International Association of Scientific Parks, is:"the scientific and technologic park is an organization led by specialists, with the goal to increase the wealth of the community by promoting the innovative culture and the competitiveness of the firms and of the organisms that are in that community".

ACTIVITIES

A bad focused effort is a lost effort. According to that idea, the scientific and technologic parks must, also, be specialized. In other words, for the favourite technologic domains, priorities are established.
Ample analyses have been made in which were taken into account the "strong points"of the zone, but especially the world trends and the most promising perspectives of the young technologies. The second aspect has a crucial importance, especially in the case of Scientific and Technologic Park Iasi, which is a long-term investment project.
Taking into account the following technologic domains have been proposed for Scientific and Technologic Park Iasi:

Phase I:

  • IT
  • AV industry

Phase II:

  • bio-technologies
  • food industry

Specific activities for Scientific and Technologic Park Iasi are:

  • scientific research
  • technologic development
  • education
  • technologic consultancy
  • processing and application the results of the research by the economic agents from Association or outside of it
  • realization and utilization in form of micro-production or the commercialisation of the experimental models, prototypes or obtained products

The associates of Scientific and Technologic Park Iasi issued the following proposals for activities:

Technical University "Gh. Asachi" Iasi

Organizational and administrative activities
